Step back 2,000 years and walk along the original cobblestones of the legendary Appian Way, one of the oldest and most important roads of Ancient Rome. Known as the “Queen of Roads,” this historic route once connected Rome to Southern Italy and carried armies, merchants, and even Spartacus’ troops.

Beginning near Circus Maximus and continuing through the ancient city gate of Porta Appia (today called Porta San Sebastiano), you will explore a peaceful countryside setting where history, archaeology, and nature blend beautifully.

Along the way, discover monumental tombs, early Christian basilicas, and sacred landmarks, including the Basilica of St. Sebastian, and the majestic Tomb of Cecilia Metella.
