    Itinerary

    • We start in front of the Vienna State Opera, the grand theater where the musical life of the city began, and we open the visit with a game of spot the details on its facade. Children look at the statues, the arches, and the golden touches up close, and we set our own relaxed pace for the whole walk.

    Tour Details

    Full Description

Vienna is a city of big stories, and families enjoy it most when we move at the right pace. Our private family tour of the historic center follows the highlights around the Opera, the Hofburg, and St. Stephen's Cathedral, with games and small activities that keep children involved from the first stop to the last.

We begin in front of the Vienna State Opera and carry on to the Albertina and the Burggarten, the imperial garden beside the palace. Here children have space to move, the Mozart monument gives the family its first activity, and strollers roll easily along the paths. The green of the park makes this one of the favorite moments of the walk for our younger guests.

The middle of the route belongs to the Habsburgs: the Hofburg and Heldenplatz, then Michaelerplatz, where the remains of the Roman settlement still lie below street level. We tell the story of Sisi and Franz Joseph in a way children can follow, and we look for the details on the facades around us with the whole family.

We continue along Kohlmarkt, past the pastry shop Demel, and reach the Graben with its Plague Column, where we take a short break in the middle of the old city. The walk closes at Stephansplatz, in front of St. Stephen's Cathedral and its colorful tiled roof, with time to look at the roof and the towers up close before we say goodbye.

We run this tour privately for one family at a time, with a guide who has experience with children and parents taking part in the whole visit. We recommend the tour for children from 5 years up, and adults and children pay the same rate. The tour is available in English, Italian, Spanish, French, and German, and hotel, airport, and train station pickup can be arranged on request.
